Just finished reading this book about Daniel Suelo who gave up money in 2000 and went to live in a cave in Utah. Just a really great book on so many levels – wish I had read it before the trip to Utah last month. Thanks so much for the recommendation @strrrrong! (one of the many quotes that I marked up in the book: “I don’t see money is evil or good: how can illusion be evil or good” he writes. “But I don’t see horoin or meth as evil or good, either. Which is more addictive and debilitating, money or meth? Attachment to illusion makes you illusion. Makes you not real Attachment to illusion is called idolatry, called addition.")

Up on The sunny roof top of Regan Projects today during the launch our benefit edition for HDTS by Shannon Ebner. The day was a total success and the edition has already sold out! Thank you so much to Shaun Regen and everyone at the gallery who helped put the event together, and to Shannon who's work I adore and feel so lucky to be working with.

We have finally started working on new paper pulp tests in the Regenerating Field this week! The tests look a little funky, but will hopefully solve issues with cracking and warping. This was actually the first project I started at A-Z west back in 2000 – The goal was to work with the most “plentiful natural resource”, which turned out to be garbage – especially paper waste. The Paper Pulp Panels are dried in a grid of racks called the Regenerating Field. People think that they look like solar panels or modernist sculpture, they are also meant to function similar to an agricultural field where you set out a batch of pulped paper each day, and then harvest them several weeks later when they are dry.

Our big loom has a 60" warp on it right now so @kellygazlay has been economizing by working on two side by side tapestry weavings. Totally impressed – it takes mad patience to work through two of these guys at the same time… #azwestweavingstudio
