A-Z Thundering Prairie Dogs

1997

A-Z Thundering Prairie Dogs expand upon Zittel’s previous series of A-Z Escape Vehicles. The A-Z Thundering Prairie Dogs respond to the way that consumers use their personal vehicles to project themselves outwards, both psychically through space and psychologically through personification. In allusion to American automobile culture and roadside attraction vernacular, each unit has a customized anthropomorphic exterior and a unique combination of microphones and amplifiers on the interior which allow the user to project and distort their voice through the unit, preserving their anonymity.
