Pattern of Habit

2012

Schedules are made by turning spendable units of time into measurable shapes, then stacked into a grid of months, weeks, days, or hours, not unlike the way that we organize boxes of cereal on a supermarket shelf. Pattern of Habit charts Zittel’s internet usage over the course of 39 days. These blocks of time spent writing emails or searching the internet have been turned into compartmentalized shapes that reveal the amount of time spent in this parallel universe, disassociated from wherever one may be physically (but not mentally) present.
