Single Strand Uniforms

With Single Strand Uniforms (1998-2001), Zittel abandoned pre-woven fibers and created clothing directly from a single strand of yarn, which she crocheted into various forms. She chose crochet over other methods of making because it requires the least number of implements possible (a single hook) to make a garment.
